Joanne K. Gray

Joanne K. Gray, 95, of Honey Grove, died at 3:02 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born on April 29, 1929 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Lehman Kirk and Cathryn (Kinzer) Kirk. On Dec. 13, 1952, she married her husband, Harold G. Gray with whom she shared more than 59 years of marriage before his passing on March 28, 2012.

Surviving are two daughters, Dianne J. Deihl and her husband, Joe, and Nannette L. Gray and her husband, David Boone, and she leaves behind one granddaughter, Ashley D. Stremme and her husband, David. She is also survived by a great grandson, Steele Stremme as well as a sister, Iva Love.

One granddaughter, Amanda Jo Deihl and a brother Emory Kirk preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gray was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, East Waterford. She was also a member of the Tuscarora Grange. Joanne was an initial member of the board to start the Rec Park in East Waterford. She was also a member of Eastern Star. She also helped out with Meals On Wheels. In earlier life Joanne served on the Juniata County School Board, she was also on various committees of her church. Joanne enjoyed sewing, knitting and calligraphy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, at the Faith In Christ Community Church, 32 Main Street, East Waterford, with the Pastor Bruce Levy officiating. Interment will follow in the East Waterford Cemetery, East Waterford.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown, PA. There will also be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church on Thursday.

The family will provide all funeral flowers, and kindly ask those who desire to make memorial contributions in Mrs. Gray's memory to the Faith In Christ Community Church, c/o Building Fund, PO Box 32, East Waterford, PA 17021.
