James N. Heimbaugh, 93, of Milroy, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on March 9, 1931, in Milroy, he was the son of the late Clarence and Blanche (Wagner) Heimbaugh. On Feb. 12, 1954, he married Audrey J. (Rager) Heimbaugh, who preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 2007.
Surviving are children, Jan M. Heimbaugh and wife, Keri, of Spring Mills, and Todd J. Heimbaugh and wife, Sharon, also of Spring Mills; grandchildren: Janson Heimbaugh, Asher Heimbaugh, Chase Heimbaugh, Morgan Heimbaugh and Mea Heimbaugh. He was also survived by his beloved cat, "Tinker." He was the last of his immediate family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Dorothy "Dot" O'Donnell and Karen "Susie" McNitt, and brothers: Carl and David Heimbaugh.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal from 1952-54. Most of his career was spent in the Carpenter's Union, mostly working in Mifflin and Centre counties. He retired from the PA Fish Commission, after working there for about 10 years.
He was a member of the Milroy Methodist Church. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling and most of all, spending time with his family.
There will be a viewing held at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home on from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024. The funeral service will be held at the Milroy United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, with Pastor Cathy Dawes officiating. Burial will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
