Eugene I. Glick

Eugene I. Glick, 83, of Reedsville, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024 at home.

Born on Oct. 28, 1940, in Reedsville, he was the son of the late Jonathan H. "Yonie" and Mamie (Roth) Glick. On June 18, 1966, he married Peggy L. (Swartz) Glick, who preceded him in death on Oct. 8, 2018.

Surviving are children: Brian S. Glick and wife, Lisa (Luce), of Belleville, Steven A. Glick and wife, Dawn (Brooks), of Reedsville, and Karla M. Glick of New Castle, DE; grandchildren: Jordyn Glick of Lubbock, TX, Kaitlyn Glick of Melbourne, FL, Austin Glick of Reedsville, Nicole Laughlin and husband, Bruce, of Lewistown; one great-granddaughter, Emily Marie Laughlin; step-grandchildren: Kayla Barner of Jersey Shore and Kaden Barner of Belleville; step great-grandchildren: Norah Mack and Denver Zinck; siblings: Rebecca Yoder and husband, Joshua D., of Belleville, Mark Glick and wife, Bonnie, of Reedsville, Marian R. Stoltzfus of Lititz, Jane Cypher and husband, Virgil, of Florida, and Helen Delaney and husband, Sam, of Belleville.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Glick and Sherman L. Glick, and a sister, Ada Yoder.

He attended Belleville Mennonite School. He was a dairy farmer from 1966-1991 and continued crop farming for a number of years. In 1985, he and his father purchased Belleville Livestock Market, that he operated until his death.

He was a Brown Township Supervisor for 36 years; past member of the Board of Directors of Mifflin County Regional Police Department; was a very early member and contributor to the Mifflin County Youth Park; and one of the founding members of the Coffee Run Fishing Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and telling jokes. He was a licensed pilot; a member of F&AM Lewistown Lodge #203, Tall Cedars and Shriners; and founding member of the Liars and Loafers Club.

There will be a visitation on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home, 3813 West Main Street, Belleville. The funeral service will be held at West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 3820 West Main Street, Belleville on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Duane Coy officiating. There will be a visitation starting at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
