Donna Dee Wagner
Donna Dee Wagner, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, was born on Aug. 13, 1941 to Edward and Helen (Brush) Fraley (in Dayton, Ohio.
Donna was a majorette and graduated from Glassport High School in 1959. Donna trained and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in the Pittsburgh Veteran’s Administration Hospital and several others, but spent most of her career working taking care of the elderly. Donna went back to school while working full time and taking care of her family. She earned her degree in Medical Records. Donna became the Director of Medical Records for Whiteman Manor, in Pittsburgh, where she retired in 2003.
Donna married the love of her life, Roger Wagner on Feb. 28, 2004. Roger and Donna loved to travel to see friends and family. They drove all over the eastern United States. There was a time or two where Roger scared Donna with the roads he took, but she loved every minute of it!
Donna was the mother of four children, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and managed to remember all their names. Donna had many creative passions. She loved to sew, quilt, and bake. She made many costumes for plays and Halloween. She and Roger canned vegetables and made apple pies to last the year every harvest season. They made cookies for everyone they knew every Christmas and loved the time they spent together doing it. Donna fell in love with quilting during her retirement, and even took her sewing machine on vacation so she could quilt without the distractions she had at home. Donna was very active in her community. She served as the first woman President of the Chief Logan Lions club and made french fries at fund raisers for years. Donna spent many years and countless hours volunteering for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, which benefits adults with autism and Pittsburgh and Merakey Allegheny Valley School. She and Roger were members of the Rhodes Memorial UMC. Donna was an animal lover. So much so that she volunteered with Willing Hearts Dalmatian Rescue and Rescue Our Furry Friends (R.O.F.F.) She and Roger also fostered more dogs than they could count. Donna always tried to find a way to help those, people and animals, in need.
Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Lee, father Edward, mother Helen, sister-in-law Gainelle, grandson Jajuan, and mother-in-law Sarah. She is survived by loving husband Roger, daughter Dawn Dobrowolski, son Scott Dobrowolski (Robin), son Lee Dobrowolski (Susan), daughter Shanna Hinton, son Jay Wagner, and daughter Tracy Stefurak (Keith).
