Ross Taylor Wagner Jr., 93, of Port Royal, entered unto rest on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024 at home with his family by his side.
Born on May 21, 1931, in Thompsontown, he was the son of the late Ross Taylor Wagner, Sr. and Anna Mae (Bolton) Wagner. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Fettig) Wagner of Port Royal whom he married on June 7, 1952. They were married 72 years.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kathy Swetham and husband, Douglas Swetham of Port Royal and Deborah J. Reichert and husband Matthew Reichert of Pennsauken, N.J. He is also survived by one brother, Thomas E. Wagner and wife, Kathleen Wagner of Mifflintown, four grandchildren Luann Source, Steven Swetham and wife, Tracey Swetham, Eric Swetham, Emily Coughlin as well as six great-grand- sons and many nieces and nephews.
Ross was employed by Bell Telephone and Verizon. He was a member of Port Royal United Methodist Church. He served his country for four years in the US Navy. He was a lifetime member of the Juniata County Sportsman Association. He was a member of the Lewistown Pistol Club as well. Ross enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are private with Pastor Crystal Baumgardner officiating. Interment will take place at Old Church Hill Cemetery in Port Royal where military honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
