Doris M. Kepler

Doris M. Kepler, 93, formerly of McAlisterville, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at Celebration Villa of Reedsville.

Born on March 20, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, she is the daughter of the late Mary M. "Daddum" Cornelius.

On Nov. 22, 1948, she married her late husband, Richard E. Kepler, with whom she was blessed to share over 52 years of marriage before his passing on Aug. 13, 2001.

She is survived by her children, John R. Kepler and his wife, Janice Martin of Altoona, Daniel W. Kepler and his wife, Brenda of McAlisterville, and Kathleen M. "Kathie" Graham, of McAlisterville; six grandchildren, Nora Chatha and her husband, Omar, Meredith Kepler and her husband, James O'Toole, Marc Kepler and his wife, Nasreen, Shawn Kepler, Drue Richmond and her husband, Adam, and Stefanie Kerstetter; and 9 great grandchildren, Anwar Chatha, Aiya Chatha, Amal Chatha, Tai Kepler, Maia Kepler, Tayah Kepler, Mason Richmond, Adelynn Beaston, and Steven Kerstetter.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son in law, Steven Graham.

Mrs. Kepler was employed and retired as an Executive Director with the Juniata County Assistance Office after many years of service.

Doris was a member and attended St. Jude Catholic Church in Mifflintown where she was a former Eucharistic Minister and was a part of the church's Women's Guild.

She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, knitting, reading, was regarded as an expert pie maker, and loved having her family over for meals; however she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was always meticulous and always had a giving spirit.

A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3918 William Penn Hwy., Mifflintown with the Rev. Kevin J. Coyle officiating. Interment will follow at Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville.

A viewing will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral services at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Kepler's memory can be made to her church, St. Jude Catholic Church, 3918 William Penn Hwy., Mifflintown, PA 17059.
