Donald D. "Don" Leader, 87, of Mifflin, passed away at 4:42 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 at his residence.
Born on June 17, 1937 in Everett, Bedford County, Pa., he was the son of the late George and Eva (Clark) Leader. He was married to Blanche (Sally) Leader whom passed away on July 25, 2010.
He is survived by two children, Daniel K. Reeder, of Mt. Carmel, Pa., and Melinda K. Burdge and her husband, Danny, of Mifflin; one granddaughter (Jayla), as well as one great granddaughter (Ella). Donald is also survived by three brothers, Delmar Leader (Joanne), Curtis Leader (Joan), and Gerald Leader (Cathy) all of Everett, Pa.; five sisters, Mary Calhoun of Everett, Pa., Donna Calhoun of Breezewood, Pa., Genevieve Riley of Everett, Pa., Charlotte Davis of Calif., and Rose (Lee) of Fla. and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was employed for over 40 years and retired from Hempt Bros. Inc. of Camp Hill. He was a dedicated worker and loved his job. He also loved gardening, riding his tractors, hunting, camping, family gatherings, and collecting anything John Deere.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024 from the Village Lighthouse Chapel, 16378 Shade Valley Road, Blairs Mills, with the Rev. Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Blairs Mills.
Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Thursday at the Church.
