Susan C. Bowersox, 78, of Milroy, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024 at Greenwood Village, Lewistown.
She was born on Dec. 23, 1945 in Lewistown, to the late James and Alice (Woy) McMullen. On Feb. 5, 1964, she married Gary K. Bowersox Sr., who preceded her in death in Jan. of 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Matthew D. Bowersox in March, 2022; siblings: Dolan McMullen Sr, John McMullen Sr, Mel McMullen, Luella Long, Ruie Huffnagle, Faye McMullen and Shirley Biddle.
Surviving are children: Gary K. Bowersox Jr. and wife, Shana, of Milroy, James M. Bowersox and wife, Jessica, of Port Royal; seven grandchildren: Nathan Peterson and wife, Amber, of Lewistown, Drew Bowersox and wife, Holly, of Milroy, Seth Bowersox and companion, Diana, of Camp Hill, Kayla Allen and husband, Ben of Richfield, Trevor Kinsloe of McAlisterville, Madisen Bowersox of Fla., Kelsey Bowersox of Fla.; six great-grandchildren: Liam, Malakai, Luke, Levi, Quinny and Salem; two sisters: Judy Brown of Washington and Donna Deel of Md.
She was primarily a homemaker. She had been employed at the Lewistown Hospital in the housekeeping department for a number of years and at the Weis Markets in the deli department.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 287 Women's Auxiliary, and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Burnham.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, refinishing furniture; she was an avid Penn State Football fan. She was a caretaker for many of her family members in their time of need and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Per her wishes, there will be no services.
