N. Joseph Allison Jr.

N. Joseph Allison Jr. passed away peacefully on Aug. 12, 2024 at the age of 83, at Valley View Retirement Home.

Prior to moving to Valley View, he and his wife, Carol A. (Whitebread) Allison, resided in Lewisburg. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, John W. Allison and wife Sarah Jane, a brother-in-law, Denny Stuter, sister-in-law Paula (Trigo) Allison and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, N. Joseph Allison, Sr. and Winnifred (Fultz) Allison, sister Darlis (Allison) Treaster, brother-in-law, William C. Treaster, sister Helen Doreen (Allison) Stuter and brother William "Bid" M. Allison.

Joseph graduated from Shippensburg University in 1962 and was a school teacher for many years, teaching in Belleville, California, Ohio and the Philadelphia area.

Joseph had a love of traveling with his wife to multiple countries, including his favorites Ireland and Scotland.

He also had a love for art, antique cars, which he restored and collected, making homemade cannons and Pennsylvania rifles, flying his airplane and spending time at his cabin in the woods. He had a passion for his family history.

Later in life, even in his frailty, he continued to seek out interests and hobbies, usually having to do with nature. His last hobby he enjoyed was watching the bumblebees in his wife's garden. He was often drawn to spending time in nature, a place where God's beauty, glory and presence was found.

A memorial service will be held at the Valley View Haven Chapel at a later date.
