Mark Leslie Campbell III, 68 of Lewisberry, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at UPMC Hospital in Harrisburg. He was the loving husband of Andrea S. (Neal) Campbell.
Born on July 12, 1956, in Lewistown, he was a son of Carole Ann (Swisher) Campbell and the late Mark L. Campbell, Jr. In addition to his wife and mother, Mark is survived by sons, Mark L. Campbell IV of Lewisberry and Stephen P. Campbell and wife, Lindsey of York Haven; one daughter, Sarah A. Applegate and husband, Kyle of Carlisle; granddaughters, Ainsley, Abigail, and Adalyn Campbell, and Ingrid Applegate; grandson, C.J. Applegate, and siblings, Linda C. Marker and husband, Tom, Joel T. Campbell and wife, Annette, Laurie A. Campbell, and Lisa K. Poche and husband, Stephen. Including his father, Mark was preceded in death by brother, Paul D. Campell.
In spite of a paralyzed arm as a result of a motorcycle accident when he was 19, Mark accomplished much in his lifetime with much pain and many medical issues. He attended Pinebrook Jr. College and Geneva College. He was part owner of Advanced Industrial Services Inc. from 1984-1989. He then went on to own and operate with his brothers, Campbell Brothers Inc., from 1989 until his retirement in 2009. His work took him all over the United States and to several foreign countries. Mark was an events planner and organizer at Project Healing Waters, where he entertained servicemen with disabilities.
Mark was an avid fly fisherman and tied his own flies. He had a massive etymology knowledge of local streams and bugs. He owned a cabin on Cherry Run Road near Penn's Creek and operated a rental business out of it. Many of the renters were fly fishermen who shared his love for the hobby. He was also a member of Trout Unlimited. Mark enjoyed cheering on the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers with sons. He was also a big fan of Martin Luther and R. C. Sproul.
A private graveside service will be held at Lind Memorial Cemetery. King-Barr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
