Jessie J. Griffith, 87, formerly of Reedsville, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024 at Valley View Haven Nursing Home, Belleville.
She was born on June 27, 1937 in Reedsville, to the late Joseph Oscar and Mary E. (Tressler) Griffith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Helen Hackett, Billy O. Griffith, William Robert Griffith, Irene L. Sassaman, and Frances Violet McCunn.
Surviving is a sister, Laura M. Swanger of Lewistown, and a few special nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed flowers and flower gardening. She especially enjoyed starting flowers and trees from seeds. In her earlier years, she enjoyed watching soap operas and knew all the actors and actresses by name.
There will be a graveside service held at the Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville, on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Doug Pierce officiating.
