James F. Fetters, 68, of Lewistown, surrounded by his loving family, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital. He was the loving husband to wife, Shirley J. (Manning) Fetters.
Born on Sept. 17, 1955 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Earl V. and Edna Y. (Yoder) Fetters. He was a graduate of Penn Highlands High School, class of 1973. For most of his life, Jim worked as an Auto and Maintenance Mechanic. He retired from Teledyne Paradise Datacom. Jim was a car fanatic and loved to watch the races. He enjoyed hunting, RC model airplanes, and cheering on college and NFL football games. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who lovingly called him "Dap."
Jim was a devoted Christian and a wonderful father. He was a member at Lewistown Alliance Church.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Jason A. Fetters and wife, Natalie of Lewistown, and Jeff N. Fetters and wife, Jamie of Lewistown; grandchildren, Levi and Oaklynn; siblings, L. Janie Michael of McClure, Dorothy Weaver and husband, Enos of Lewistown, and Albert R. Fetters, Sr. and wife, Joan of Lewistown; foster brother, David Baumgardner, and brother-in-law, Richard D. Manning. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by daughter, Katherine L. Fetters, and siblings, John W. Fetters, Connie L. Bishop, and S. Marjorie Payne.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024 at Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave, Lewistown, PA 17044. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Looney and Pastor Bill Miller officiating. King-Barr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
