Arlene Hassinger, 86 of Lewistown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Robert "Bob" Hassinger for 69 years.
Born on Aug. 26, 1937 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late James Fraine and Frances (Reed) Tallon. Arlene was a previous employee at Fisher's Sanyo. She was a member at Calvary Bible Church and Senior Saints, formerly known as Evangelders. Arlene enjoyed spending time with her husband and their many trips to the beach and camping. She loved reading, but most of all, loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Arlene is survived by children, Rob Hassinger of Ephrata and Kim Swyers and husband, Chris of Reedsville; grandchildren, Julie, Doug Jr., and Amber Hassinger, Courtney and Cody Miller, Trent and Mallory Swyers, and Trisha and Hunter Hassinger; great grandchildren, Aubrey Walls and Asher Hassinger, and sister, Donna Baker. Including her parents, Arlene is preceded in death by children, Doug and Kelly Hassinger, and siblings, Harold Hornberger, Maxine Erb, and James Fraine.
A viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024 at King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Marsh officiating. A private burial will take place at Mt. Rock Cemetery.
