Jesse Franklin Davis

Born Jan. 23, 1927, in Yeagertown, the son of the late William Samuel and Freda Mae (Nevel) Davis.

He married Patricia Ann (Wilson) Davis in Lewistown, on July 10, 1949 (she dec. Aug. 18, 2017).

Survivors include: a son, Richard L. Davis; daughter, Rhonda L. Davis Esq. (Benjamin Sweeney); grandchildren, Emily K. Davis (Lucas) Newcomer, Libby C. McCardle (John) McDuling, Adrienne Jessie McCardle (Todd) Jones, Britt P. McCardle (Joel) Barnes and Jess P. (Brittany Jerlat) Davis. Step-grandchildren: Margaret Sweeney Pfitzenmaier, Sarah Sweeney (Brad) Cascagnette, Jessica Sweeney (Alex) Hoover; great-grandchildren, Zachary L., Kathryn E. and Anna G. Newcomer; Grace E. and Eleanor R. McDuling; and Andrew Jesse Jones; step-great-grandchildren: Lillian, Jackson and Trent Pfitzenmaier; Carter Cascagnette; and Vivian, Alicia and London Hoover; Emma, Olivia and Nicholas Jones; sisters, Saundra (Gary) Showers and Patricia (Richard) Erhard; sisters-in-law, Joyce Goss (the late William) Davis and Lucille Johnson (the late Harold) Davis, Judy Wilson Kratzer (Donald) Singer; brother-in-law, Joe (Sandra) Wilson.

Preceded in death in addition to his wife and parents include brothers, William Davis and Harold Davis, brothers-in-law, Lee M. Wilson, Kenneth Kratzer, Lee Tate; sister-in-law, Dorene (Wilson) Tate; daughter-in-law, Margaret (Petrie) Davis

Jess retired from New Holland in 1986 as Controller at the Belleville plant.

He was Manager of Financial Systems and Services for the European Division of New Holland in Zedelgem, Belgium from July 1982 to July 1983.

Jess was a former Licensed Pennsylvania Accountant, IRS Enrolled Agent and Certified Data Processor.

Jess also had been employed as an auditor by TWUA in New York City, as a Pennsylvania Cost Accountant by Cluett Peabody and as a Continuing Education Professor for Penn State In Lewistown.

He graduated from Yeagertown High School in 1944 where he was valedictorian and played football, and from Bucknell University in 1948 with a BS in Commerce and Finance.

Jesse was a 97-year-old US Navy Veteran that served in the elite V-12 unit from 1944-1946.

He was a charter member of Calvary Bible Church in Lewistown.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

At his request, there will be no services.

Interment will be in Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery, Annville, PA beside his best girl, Patricia.

Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
