Janet Louise (Gentzel) Heck, 87, of Mifflintown, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024 in her sleep. She will be missed.
Born in Naginey on Jan. 3, 1937 to Orice C and Rebecca J. (Shirk) Gentzel.
She was the youngest of eight children who have all passed away, Thelma, Sarah, Margaret, Harold (Hi), Earl (Dick), Bertha (Betty), and Helen.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William Heck and son, Jeffrey Heck and daughter, Louise Morgan and husband, Preston. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her twins Kerry Heck and Kathy Heck.
She was a graduate of Armagh-Brown High School class of 1954 and the Fort Worth, TX Business School in 1978.
Janet worked as a secretary for Dr. Dixon in Lewistown and was a jewelry salesclerk at various stores in Pennsylvania and Texas.
There will be no viewing or service. Her ashes will be buried in the Heck family plot in the Riverview Cemetery in Heckton, PA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
