Earl W. Kenepp

McVeytown native Earl W. Kenepp died June 25, 2024, in Garden Spot Village, New Holland, PA. He was 91.

Born March 15, 1933, Earl was the son of Lloyd and Ethel (Moist) Kenepp.

His wife of 62 years, Janet B. (Pelurie) Kenepp died in 2023. He was preceded in death by four siblings: Donald Kenepp, Audrey Morgan, Rev. Harold Kenepp and Jeanne Kenepp.

He is survived by a son, Gregory (wife Elizabeth), a daughter, Lori (partner Jim) and a brother Paul Kenepp (wife Diana).

Earl graduated from McVeytown Oliver High School. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp in Korea (1953-1955). He received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Millersville University (1959) and a Master of Science in Education from Temple University (1966). Earl taught at Chief Logan High School in 1960, in the Garden Spot High School (1962-1968) and the Conestoga Valley High School (1969-1993).

Earl was a continually active member of the St. Stephen's Reformed Church in New Holland. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons. He served on the Earl Township Sewer Authority from 1996-2021. He was on the board of the Welsh Mountain Medical and Dental Center for four years. Earl was also a summer tour guide for the New Holland Machine Company.

Earl and Janet were birders who traveled locally and internationally on birding trips. He was a skilled woodworker, creating a beautiful home for Janet and himself. Earl was a kind, friendly and caring man who loved people.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8th at 2 pm in the Garden Spot Village Chapel. 433 S. Kinser Ave., New Holland, PA 17557 with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating.

in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Earl's memory to the Lancaster Conservancy, 117 S. West End Ave., Lancaster 17603; Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Dr., Lancaster, 17604; or any other organization of your choosing which honors Earl's life.
