Nancy L. (Rhoades) Goshorn

Nancy L. (Rhoades) Goshorn, 83, Reedsville, entered into the arms of Jesus and was reunited with her husband, John "Whiskers" Goshorn on June 17, 2024. They were married on Jan. 3, 1992.

Born on May 9, 1941 in Reedsville, she was a daughter of the late John H. & Madge "Tudy" (Mitchell) Rhoades. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mona L. Stitt and husband Bob Stitt, nephew Bobby Stitt, niece Lindy Stitt and son-in-law James Mayes.

Surviving are children: Tina Myers and husband Robert of Lewistown, Terry Knouse and husband, Scott of Reedsville, Tisa Caslow and husband, Troy of Lancaster, Jon Silks and wife, Jennifer of Spring Mills, Holly Hill and husband, Brad of Reedsville, 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, with one arriving in August, and one great-great grandchild.

Nancy was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She loved and enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren.

Her earlier employment included the Viscose and Standard Steel. After her time at the Viscose, she started her first business, Tea Creek Kennels, where she boarded and groomed dogs as well as raised poodles and yorkies. Following that, she started her second business as owner/operator of six pet stores called That Pet Place. Following that she then owned Galloping G Miniatures, raising miniature horses, pot belly pigs, and goats.

She wore the following hats for her family: spiritual advisor, prayer warrior, life coach, diabetic educator, nutritionist, and bird watcher extraordinaire.

She was a member of Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church and loved her church family and her long-time friend and pastor, Douglas Sabin.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 5 p.m. at Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Douglas Sabin officiating.
