Lorraine Mae "Rainy" Lauver, 86, of McAlisterville, passed away at 1 a.m., Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Valley View Haven in Belleville.
Born on March 11, 1938, in McAlisterville, she is a daughter of the late Marlin Samuel and Laura Emma (Ehrisman) Potter. On Nov. 13, 1955, she married her late husband, Robert Emory "Red" Lauver, with whom she was blessed to share over 66 years of marriage before his passing on June 8, 2022.
Surviving are her children, Douglas Lauver and his wife, Cheryl of McAlisterville, Gregory Lauver and his wife, Darlene of Congress, Ariz., Sheree Brogan and her husband, Randy of Richfield, and Jeffrey Lauver and his wife, Mindy of McAlisterville; one brother, Dale Potter and his wife, Cathy of New Bloomfield; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger Potter, Roy Potter, and Donald Potter; and one sister, Lois Potter.
Mrs. Lauver was a 1955 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus.
In earlier life, she was employed with Dutchmaid Clothing and was able to stay home and become a proud homemaker with her family, then she was employed and retired as a Cook at East Juniata High School in Cocolamus.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in McAlisterville.
Rainy enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling with her husband, and was instrumental in organizing the EJHS Class of 1955 class reunions; however, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 24, 2024 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 420 Main St., McAlisterville with Pastor Karen Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in McAlisterville.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 24 at the church.
