James A. Spangler

James A. Spangler, 94, 400 Honey Lane, Reedsville, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at his home.

He was born on May 28, 1930, in Reedsville to the late John Spangler and Mary (Headings) Reed. On Nov. 18, 1955, he married Mildred E. Spangler, who preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 2021.

He is survived by children: Karen D. Ruble and husband Jim of Reedsville, Sharon L. Gallagher of Hazelton, Jameline A. Krepps and husband Wesley of Lewistown, and Danna M. Klinger of Reedsville; 11 grandchildren: Bill, Carma Jo, Chris, Desiree, Dan, Jess, Jen, Janalee, Wade, Mike, Jimi and seven great- grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Fisher of Lewistown.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Robert Spangler and Dorothy Shirk.

He was a life-long dairy farmer, retiring in 1985. Following retirement, he enjoyed doing woodworking projects and hunting. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and visited multiple states.

A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main Street, Reedsville. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Church Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jean Ward officiating.
