Elsie Lou Rowles, 84, formerly of Lewistown, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 10, 2024 at her granddaughter's home in York.
Born July 8, 1939, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Esther (Lykens) Stryker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Randall Rowles, children, David Rowles and Sue Fortson, brothers, Paul, David, and John Stryker, and sisters, Laura Wagner and Lois Wagner.
Lou is survived by her son, Paul Rowles and wife Angie, of Lewistown, a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Rowles, of Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and siblings, Wallace Stryker and wife Dorothy, of McVeytown, Gary Stryker, of Lewistown, Esther Rushin, of Missouri, and Bonnie Stryker, of Lewistown.
She was employed at Empire Kosher, and retired from there after many years of service.
She was a member of Lewistown Alliance Church, where she took part in women's bible study, Vacation Bible School, and served as Sunday school secretary for many years. She enjoyed spending time at the Lewistown Senior Citizens Center, walking, planting flowers, and completing house work. Most of all, Lou enjoyed spending time with her family that meant so much to her.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday June 13, 2024, at Lind Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Bill Miller to officiate.
