Charles L. "Charlie" Haines, 76, of McAlisterville, passed away at 7:58 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley, State College.
Born on April 28, 1948 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Lloyd Woodrow and Fay Romaine (Hoverter) Haines.
On Aug. 28, 1971, he married his late wife, Virginia R. (Ard) Haines, with whom he was blessed to share more than 49 years of marriage before her passing on March 3, 2021.
He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly A. Dressler and her husband Eric of McAlisterville; two granddaughters, McKala Ehrenzeller and her husband Nathan and Madison Dressler-Hess and her husband Justin; two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Barry Landis and his wife Jeanie of McAlisterville and Rick Landis and his wife Gayle of Mifflintown; six step grandchildren, Tammy Marshall and her husband Paul, Scott Landis and his wife Mandy, Brad Landis and his wife Lindsey, Tyler Landis and his wife Staci, Mike Landis and his wife Brenda, and Brett Landis; and 12 step great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Haines and one nephew, Jeffery Haines.
Mr. Haines was a 1966 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and for most of his working career was a self employed carpenter.
He was a lifetime member of the Juniata County Sportsmen's Association and was a member of Camp Coble.
Charlie was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed woodworking and camping; however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor Jodi L. Strawser officiating. Interment will follow at East Salem Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Haines' memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
