Robert Pranaitis, 64, passed away Monday, May 6, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1959 in Long Island, N.Y. to Robert and Ruth (Bowman) Pranaitis, both deceased.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kim Fry and his dog of 12 years, Maggie. He is also survived by his mother-ln-law, Eleanor Fry, sisters Suzann Pranaitis and Joann Pranaitis, niece Nikki Dudek, and nephew Sean Lamar Pranaitis.
After graduating in 1977 from Bishop Mcdevitt High School, he moved to San Francisco with his high school sweetheart where they lived for 27 years. He worked at Clay Art, a ceramics company, as shipping manager, for 20 years. Bob moved back to Pennsylvania in 2003 settling in Lewistown where he worked at the Post Office. He also worked in the "junk" business selling collectibles at shows and on ebay for over 25 years.
Bob enjoyed travel, rock concerts and video games (Game of Thrones). He honeymooned in Hawaii, visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, China, and Hong Kong. He never missed the annual northern California Reggae on the River festival until it's demise in the early aughts. Bob will be sorely missed for his kind and gentle spirit.
A memorial to be determined at a later date.
