Matthew J. McKalips, of McClure, passed away suddenly on May 18, 2024.
Born in State College, n Feb.7, 1982, he was the son of the late Marshall W. (Hooly) McKalips, and Mary Theresa McKalips.
A graduate of West Snyder High School, Matt moved to Colorado following graduation. Eventually, he returned to attend Penn College, where he earned his degree in culinary. He went on to work as a chef in Boston, Philadelphia, Lancaster and several local places. He was also the proud owner of "Daryl's Dills."
A wonderful tender-hearted son and friend, he would light up a room just by walking in.
Matt will be missed forever by his mom, brother James Blakeslee, of Buffalo, N.Y. his faithful dog Quinn, Aunt "B", of Scranton, Aunt Nellene, of Myrtle Beach, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
