Helen Evelyn (Baldwin) Greene, passed away on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, in Mechanicsburg, PA. She was born on May 11, 1937, in Lewistown PA. She was the daughter of the late George Simeon Baldwin and Bertha Evelyn (Schneider) Baldwin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband William Johnston Greene of 47 years.
Helen is survived by her children: Stephen Johnston Greene (Joanna) of Anderson Indiana and William Scott Greene (Wendy) of Mechanicsburg, a sister Betsy Baker (Ralph) of Lewistown, and their children, Carolyn (CA) and Kevin (CA). She is also survived by a brother-in-law John Greene (Marsha) and their children Johnny and Matt, of Enola PA. In addition to her three granddaughters, Anna and Katherine Greene and Daysha Norris, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was a 1955 graduate of Lewistown High School and earned her Master of Science Degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1969. She taught math in CA and Camp Hill, retiring in 1983. She then worked in several positions for the Naval Base in Mechanicsburg, retiring in 1999. Family was very important to Helen. She loved having family picnics at her home. Helen enjoyed singing in the Bethany Village Woman's Chorus, playing bridge, and following Penn State and New York Jets Football. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, PA.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M on Thursday, May 23, 2024, in the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA, with Chaplain Brand Eaton officiating. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. An additional viewing will be held in Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home – Woodlawn Location, 200 North Main St., Lewistown, PA 17044, on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 12:00 P.M until 2:00 P.M., with a graveside service to be held following the viewing, in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
