Gail B. Hilderbrandt, 79, of 1281 Greenwood Road, Belleville, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1945, to the late George A. and Ortha (Taylor) Barten. On Sept. 18, 1963, she married her husband, James L. Hilderbrandt, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are children: Jan L. Hilderbrandt of Spring City, Pa., Leigh Hilderbrandt of Stow, Mass., Grant Hilderbrandt of Arlington, Va.; two grandchildren, Andrea Vann of Avon, O.H., Brandon Vann of Cleveland, O.H.; a sister Carolyn Vemulapalli of Tucson, Ariz., and Joan Stanley and husband, John of Highland Village, T.X.
She attended Penn State University for Interior Design. She was employed the Bel-Vue Inn for a number of years until her retirement. She was an accomplished artist, even at a young age. She was the youngest copyist at the Smithsonian when she was a teenager. She also studied ballet, modern dance and was a member of the synchronized swim team. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and baking and was a lover of animals. She had a terrific sense of humor and enjoyed talking with people.
A funeral service will be held at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Reedsville, PA. on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sigler officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, Pa.
