Donald Warfel

Donald Warfel peacefully left this world to be with Jesus on May 17, 2024. Don was born in Lewistown on Aug. 31, 1932. He was 91. Don was a devout Christian and a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. Don was a 32 Degree Mason with a Fifty-Year service emblem with the R.W. Grand lodge of Pa. He was a Veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean war as a radarman on the USS Fessenden. He was a great friend to many people and never met a stranger. He may have forgotten your name but never your face. He loved dogs. While he did not have one in a while all the dogs in the neighborhood would stop for a visit and a biscuit from his can. He is survived by three children, Wendee, David and his wife Debbie, Gela and her life partner Debbie. Five grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Patrick, Nicholas, Katherine and 14 great grandchildren. He will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his name to either Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, Pa or to the New Birth of Freedom Council, BSA where he helped shape the lives of hundreds of young men for many years.
