David A. Byler, 91, of 329 King Lane Belleville, passed away on May 14, 2024, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 23, 1933, to the late David J. and Sadie A. (Peachey) Byler. He was preceded in death by a son Richard "Rick" Byler on Sept. 5, 2023, and siblings: Ella Mae Byler, Verna Yoder, Martha Zook, Bertha Peachey Ruth Kauffman, Florence Richer, Jesse Byler and Raymond J. Byler.
On Nov. 21, 1953, he married his wife, Sadie R. (Yoder) Byler, who survives along with his children: Joanne K. Hetrick and spouse, Blair of Burnham, David J. Byler and spouse, Kathy of Belleville, daughter-in-law, Louise Byler of Huntingdon; seven grandchildren: Samantha Dunn, Charity Harp, Jessica L. Byler and companion, Brett Carper, Brittany A. Krepps and husband, Wade, Rebekah Rhodes and husband, Jesse, Isaac Byler and Alex Byler; eight great-grandchildren: Jake, Damian, Angel, Summer, Kadan, Wyatt, Connor, Ellie; a great-granddaughter, Lexie; siblings: Lois Peachey of Belleville, Dr. Leonard Byler and wife, Rhoda of Souderton, Pa, sister-in-law Arlene Byler, of Belleville and a brother-in-law, Roger Richer of Goshen, Ind.
He was a life-long dairy farmer and a member of the Locust Grove Mennonite Church.
He had a passion for being in the mountains and woods. He was a people person and loved to meet new people, with Dave, no one stayed a stranger for long. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends.
A viewing will be held at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a funeral service to be held at the church on Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m. with Ivan Yoder officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
