Rose M. Stine, 88, of Middletown Home, formerly of Deodate and Elizabethtown, passed away on April 14, 2024.
She was born April 10, 1936, in McVeytown, daughter of the late Eugene and Bertha (Hopple) Sheaffer.
After high school Rose worked briefly for the FBI but returned home and worked for Atlantic States Gas Company. She was a member of Fishburn United Methodist Church and volunteered for many years in the kitchen for luncheons. She enjoyed traveling and jigsaw puzzles.
Rose is survived by her husband of almost 67 years, Leonard E. Stine; daughter, Pamela (Steve) Nelson; son, Timothy (Roxie) Stine; grandchildren, Justin, Christopher, Andrew, Jenna and Nellie; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Chloe, Mila and Marlee; sisters, Stella (Ron) Henry, Brenda Brown and son-in-law, Randy Pope.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jody Marsh Pope; siblings, Arthur Sheaffer, Betty Gro, Martha Stine, William Sheaffer and Florence Sheaffer.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 25, at noon in the Chapel at Middletown Home, 999 W. Harrisburg Pike, Middletown. The family will begin receiving guests at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest privately in Fishburn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Middletown Home or Fishburn UM Church.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Middletown Home for their kindness and compassion Rose received during her care.
