McGarvey, Michael John, 57, Shirleysburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 13, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Oct. 12, 1966, Huntingdon, son of John McGarvey and the late Barbara (Cooper) McGarvey. Preceded in death by grandparents, Roy and Inez McGarvey, Melvin Sr. and Winifred Cooper; and a niece, Sara Ruth Ann McGarvey. Survived by his father; brother, David McGarvey and companion, Tina; sisters, Donna Wray and husband, Brian; and Sue Kline and husband, Douglas; nephews, Tyler Wray and wife, Shannon; Christopher Wray and Brayden Kline, whom he was very close to and a niece, Catherine McGarvey. Michael was a 1984 graduate of Mount Union Area High School. He was employed as an assembler at Volvo Construction Equipment in Shippensburg. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday April 17, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Thursday April 18, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Ramon Morgan, officiant.
