Nathan A. Jones, 45, of Concord, passed away in his home Feb. 26, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Jody L. (Freet) Jones.
Born May 12, 1978, in Lewistown, he was a son of Ray L. and Anita C. (Burns) Jones of Thompsontown. Nathan was raised in Thompsontown and attended Juniata High School. In his younger years he enjoyed working and traveling with the harvesting crews in the West.
Nathan's employment included working for Todd Swartz Trucking in East Waterford, Deamer Trucking in Mifflintown and prior to his illness as a truck driver and excavator with Main Line Excavating in Harrisburg. He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying the earth, gardening, hunting, and fishing.
Surviving with his wife, Jody, and his parents, are 3 children: Jocelynn, Justin, and Jaden Jones, 2 brothers, Preston L. (Sandy), Mifflin, Brett D. (Trish), Port Royal, and 1 sister, Leigh Barger (Alex), Manheim, his maternal step-grandfather, Dennis Ruble, New Bloomfield, 5 nephews, 1 niece, 2 great nieces,1 great nephew and his parents-in-law, Harry and Reba Freet of Concord.
A viewing will be held at the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, Friday, March 1 between 6 and 8 p.m. and again Sat. after 1:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Charles McKee officiating. Interment Concord Union Cemetery. The family suggests the omission of flowers. Should friends desire, donations given to the family for the future education of his children would be appreciated.
