Wilma F. (Graybill) Kauffman, 92, of Mifflintown passed away at 8:55 PM on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on Jan. 27, 1932 in Lancaster County, she is a daughter of the late J. Roy and Mary Ella (Ferster) Graybill.
On Nov. 25, 1951, she married her late husband, Raymond E. Kauffman with whom she was blessed to share over 48 years of marriage before his passing on July 14, 2000.
She is survived by her children, Barbara J. Freeman and her husband Frank of Bloomingburg, NY and Marlin D. Kauffman and his wife Margie of Mifflintown; two grandchildren, Frank Freeman, Jr. and his wife Rosemarie and Jasmine Sankar and her husband Khalil; three great grandchildren, Savanna, Chase, and Carter Freeman; one brother, Clayton Graybill of Richfield and many generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Harold R. Kauffman on May 14, 2013; and six siblings, Harold Graybill, Earl Graybill, Glenn Graybill, Kathryn Good, Elvin Graybill, and Maybell Graybill.
Along with her husband, she proudly obtained her G.E.D. in 1988.
Her memberships included the Lost Creek Mennonite Church in Oakland Mills where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and served on the building committee; a former board member of the Juniata Mennonite Historical Society; and a former member of the Juniata County Historical Society.
Wilma enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and was passionate about history and learning different historical significances; however, her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Kauffman will be remembered for her hospitable nature toward many people over the years.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Lost Creek Mennonite Church, 2682 Long Road, Mifflintown with Pastor Chad Weaver, Pastor Christopher Mummau, and her nephew, Bishop Glenn Kauffman officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church.
