Phyllis Jean Alexander, 84, of 74 Marlick Ave., Reedsville, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, at her home.
She was born on Aug. 18, 1939, in Buffalo, N.Y., a daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret E. (Stephens) Maracle. On July 23, 1960, she married Rodney L. Alexander, who preceded her in death on May 30, 2016.
She is survived by: a son, William L. Alexander of Reedsville; a daughter, Beth Lynn Lawler of Pleasant Gap; three grandchildren, Katherine Murphy, Rebecca Murphy and Emily Lawler; two great-grandchildren, Jacoby Cassick and Roslyn Cassick; a brother, Leroy Maracle and wife, Pamela of Dover, Del.; and was loved by many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Maracle, Jr. and Gene Raymond Maracle.
For a number of years, Phyllis was primary a homemaker. In 2004, she retired as a secretary for the Penn State University Theatre of Arts. She attended Grace United Methodist Church in Lewistown.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Reedsville, with Pastor Doug Pierce officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Church Hill Cemetery. Her viewing & a time for her family to receive friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Her family will provide the flowers. Should friends desire, memorials may be made in her honor to any organization of the donor's choice.
