Lee R. Glass

Lee R. Glass, 87, McAlisterville, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Brookline Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Mifflintown.

Born on Sept. 23, 1936, in Freeburg, Snyder County, he is a son of the late Albert and Katherine (Nace) Glass.

On Jan. 1, 1958, he married Hazel (Walter) Glass with whom he was blessed to share over 10 years of marriage before her passing on Dec. 27, 1968. On April 20, 1985, he married E. Marlene (Kurtz) Glass with whom he was blessed to share of 38 years of marriage before his passing.

In addition to his second wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Wendy S. Roush and her husband, Guy and Crystal L. Troxell and her husband, Randy, all of Middleburg; one step son, Joseph L. Peoples and his wife, Crystal of McAlisterville; six grandchildren, Joshua Roush and his wife, Falisha, Ryan Roush and his wife, Ellen, Clinton Peoples and his wife, Melanie, Ethan Peoples and his wife, Morgan, Colby Peoples and his wife, Whitney, and Courtney Woodling and her husband, Marcus; eight great grandchildren; four siblings, Francis "Speck" Glass, Gerald "Spark" Glass and his wife. Nancy, and Carson "Cork" Glass, all of Middleburg and Carol Snyder and her husband, John of Kreamer; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Eleanor Rapp, John Glass, William Glass and Russell Glass.

Mr. Glass was a 1954 graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School and was a life long self employed carpenter, along with his brothers, at Glass Brothers Construction.

Lee was a member and attended Pine Grove United Methodist Church where he was a former church trustee.

He enjoyed wood crafting, hunting, and rooting on the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and Penn State football; however, his greatest joy came from time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 4633 Cuba Mills Road, Mifflintown with Pastor Parrish Munro officiating. Interment will take place at Hummel's Church Cemetery, Middleburg.

A viewing will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Glass's memory can be made to the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 4633 Cuba Mills Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
