Gloria J. Elsesser, 80 of Lewistown, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Samuel E. Elsesser before his passing in 2012.
Born on March 2, 1943 in Middleburg, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Mary (Swanger) Klose. Gloria is a graduate of Middleburg Area High School. For many years she worked at Rea Derrick & Peoples until her retirement. During her free time, Gloria enjoyed catching up on her favorite shows and traveling. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Lewistown.
Gloria leaves behind her children, Jamie Young of Lewistown, Mark Spigelmyer and wife, Pura of Bellefonte, Virginia, and Amy Wilson and husband, Rodney of Lewistown; step-children, Bonnie Schultz and husband, Terry of Reading, Vicki Vu and husband, Anh of Mechanicsville, Maryland, and Mark Elsesser and wife, Deb of Lewistown; 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by step-daughter, Joann Price and brother, Richard Klose.
A viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024 at King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. A graveside service will follow at Juniata Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Karen McCachren.
