Donna A. (Leister) Lauver, 82, of East Salem passed away at 4:02 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at her residence.
Born on Dec. 15, 1941, in Monroe Twp., Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late Harry Sr. and Mildred (Ehrenzeller) Leister.
On May 27, 1975, she married her late husband, Ira Harold "Pap" Lauver with whom she was blessed to share over 45 years of marriage before his passing on April 5, 2021.
She is survived by her children, Tonda L. Ehrisman and her fiance, Charles "Crunch" Haines, of Mifflintown, Tracey J. Hoffman and her husband, Stanley, of Richfield, and John R. Ehrisman and his wife, Lori, of O.H., Keith H. Lauver and his wife, Cathy, of Selinsgrove, Kathy I. Crossgrove and her husband, Dennis, of Beaver Springs, Douglas I. Lauver and his wife, Lori, of Mifflinburg, and Brenda L. Melhorn and her significant other, Greg, Russell of Middleburg; 15 grandchildren, Robin Hack and her husband, Mitch, Curtis Hoffman and his wife, Kristin, Cheryl Maneval and her husband, Jason, Kaitlyn Kuhns and her husband, Brett, Carly Parks and her husband, Cameron, Jordan Ehrisman, Jill Ehrisman, Joe Ehrisman and his wife, Christine, Sara Lauver, Jason Melhorn, Tyler Lauver, Andy Showalter and his wife, Angelica, Justin Showalter, John Showalter, and Barbie Hoffman; 24 great grandchildren; siblings, Harry Leister Jr., of Harrisburg, Clarice Pellman and her husband, Raymond, of McAlisterville, and Pat Rickenbaugh and her husband, Jack, of Harrisburg; a very special aunt, Norma Frymoyer, of McAlisterville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Timothy J. "Tim" Ehrisman; one grandson, Jacob Ehrisman; one sister, Wilma Ferster; and one sister in law, Sue Leister.
Mrs. Lauver was a certified nursing assistant and worked in many local healthcare facilities and also worked in home health and private duty care.
She loved raising violets and tending to her flower garden; eating and serving ice cream to whoever came to visit her; enjoyed crocheting; loved her cats, especially Lilly and Momma Cat; and, after retiring, enjoyed camping with her late husband and family.
Donna's heart was full of love for everyone she met. She treasured all the visits from her family, friends, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor John Walters officiating. Interment will follow at the East Salem Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral services at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
