William ‘Billy’ Delbert Harbst Jr.

William "Billy" Delbert Harbst Jr., 66, formerly of Lewistown, and of Charleston, S.C., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at his home.

Born April 24, 1957, in Lewistown, he was a son of William Delbert Harbst, Sr. and Donna Virginia Harbst Griffith, who survive.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Debra A. (Padgett) Harbst, and a brother, Jefferey S. Harbst.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by: children, Ronnie W. Weaver and Amy N. Carter, both of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren, Taylor R. Harbst Pineiro and Brandon A. Carter; great-grandson, Javier Luis Pineiro; and siblings, Robert B. Harbst, of McClure, Sherri L. Sanders, of New Columbia, and Christopher T. Harbst, of Granville.

He was a Chief Logan high school graduate, Class of 1975, and a U.S. Navy veteran, who served from 1975 to 1979.

Billy was employed as an industrial mechanic by Detyens Shipyard in Charleston, S.C.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends, boating, fishing, reading, and cooking.

Services were held, with arrangements by Eutawville Community Funeral Home in Charleston, S.C.
