Marlene K. Johnson, 72 of Lewistown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Helen E. (Carl) and Charles C. Longwell, Sr.
Marlene was married to her loving husband, the late Sherman C. Johnson, Sr. on Aug. 5, 1972, who passed away on Feb. 14, 2022.
Marlene is survived by her son, Sherman C. Johnson, Jr. and wife, Melissa (Shawver) of McVeytown; grandchildren, Trey D. Johnson, Landon M. Johnson, Courtney Casner, Amy Casner, and Jennifer Casner; great granddaughter, Kinsley Berrier; sister-in-law, Bonnie K. (Kelley) Longwell; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Edward and Darlene (Johnson) Knepp and James and Sue (Johnson) Murri, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles C. Longwell, Jr. and William T. Longwell, and sisters, Peggy L. Huffman and twin sister, Darlene "Dee" F. Wagner.
Marlene was an active member of the Lewistown Assembly of God Church, serving in different positions in her early years. She was employed by Prudential Insurance Company for 20 years, Barron and Zimmerman Law Office, and Kish Insurance Agency affiliated with Kish Bank, retiring in 2017. In her free time, Marlene enjoyed crafting, painting, playing games, puzzles and spending time with her family and friends.
Details of a Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. King-Barr Funeral Home LLC is in charge of arrangements.
