Jack M. Coffey

Jack M. Coffey, 90, 9 Ards Ridge Road, Lewistown, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at home.

He was born on April 11, 1933, in Lewistown, to Fullmer and Sylvia (Webb) Coffey who preceded him in death. On Dec. 27, 1953, he married Nancy C. (Shank) Coffey, who survives at home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a son-in-law Michael Rose; and sisters Donna Worley and Elaine Clark.

Surviving are children, Brenda Rose of Lewistown, Sandra Lagasee of West Palm Beach, Fla., Wayde Coffey and wife Kimbra of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren, and a sister Patricia Coffey of Belleville.

He graduated in 1951 from Lewistown High School and was employed at Standard Steel as a mail boy. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1953-1956, then went back to Standard Steel and retired in 1995 with 39 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post 7011 in Lewistown, and the Slim Walley Rot-N-Gun Club in Juniata County.

He enjoyed hunting, bowling, walking and running marathons, avid motorcycle rider with his wife until he was 85 years old.

A viewing will be held 10 – 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, Pa., with Pastor Darryll Wireman officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy, Pa.
