Barbara Bock Jones, 72, of Reedsville, passed away at 7:55 p.m., at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Dec. 6, 1951, in Waynesburg, she was a daughter of the late Cyril and Mildred (Jones) Bock.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Jones; brother, Michael Bock; sister, Pamela Bock; and sister-in-law, Nola Hartsock.
Barbara is survived by: children, Abraham David Jones and wife, Michelle, of Lewistown, and Phoebe Jones, of Reedsville; brother, Barry Bock, of Columbus, Ohio; nephews, Hunter Bock and Carl Hartsock; nieces, Jenifer Ellenberg, Leslie Homer and husband, John, and April Patton and husband, Michael; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was a graduate of Mapletown High School, Class of 1969, and California State University in 1973, where she earned her teaching degree.
Barbara taught 9th grade English at Chief Logan High School, later known as Indian Valley High School, for 35 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lewistown, where she served as church secretary for many years. She was a long time member of the Women's Service Club and Habitat for Humanity, and a member of a local book club for several years.
Barbara loved spending time with her family and friends and loved children.
Viewings will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.
A third viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 5, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn, followed by the funeral service, with Pastor Mark Hill officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
