James D. "Buck" Smith, 77, of Lewistown, passed away on Wednesday Dec. 27, 2023 at his home.
Born Oct. 21, 1946 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Harold Smith and Flossie "Birdie" (McMaster) Ritenour. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Judi (Druckemiller) Smith.
Buck is survived by his children, Shana Smith, of Pittsburgh, Nichole Prescott and husband Ian, of Lewistown, Briana O'Dell and husband Derek, of Pittsburgh, Billi Hess, of McClure, Mercedes (Madera) Lauver and husband D.J., of Lewistown, grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Amariyah, Liam, Ronan, Kaili, Deven, and Noah, and his sister, Elaine Lyter, of Burnham.
He was employed as a police officer in Derry Township, and later at Mifflin County Regional.
A celebration of life will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday January 30, 2023 at The Milroy Hose Company #1, 190 College Ave, Milroy Pa 17063
