Sharon C. Barger, 64, of Lewistown, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from lung complications at Select Specialty Hospital in Harrisburg, PA.
She was born on March 21, 1959, to the late Ralph L. Reeder and Betty J. (Frankhouser) Reeder at Lewistown Hospital.
She is survived by her loving brother, Stephen D. Reeder, of Lewistown, who was always there when she needed him; a sister, Sandra A. (Reeder) Mason, who loved her dearly and would cook her anything she asked for; nephew, Thomas R. Mason, Jr., and her ex-husband, Steven W. Barger, of Reedsville, who was also a devoted friend and the love of her life.
Sharon was preceded in death by an infant sister, Tina L. Reeder; both maternal and paternal grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles, and brother-in-law, Thomas R. Mason.
She had two dogs that she dearly loved, Skippy and Niko, who were her babies that crossed over the rainbow bridge.
Sharon graduated from Chief Logan H.S. in 1977 and had been employed at The Sentinel, Arthur Treachers, Hardees, J.C. Pennys, and Milroy Dairy Queen during her lifetime.
Sharon was a very loving soul and made friends where she went. She loved to talk. She would want the numerous children (now adults), with whom she shared a special friendship, to know that they brought great joy to her life since she never had any children of her own.
Special thanks to the staff at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital for taking good care of her through the years; her home aides, especially Letta Bell who took good care of her, and also to the Fame EMT's for coming to her rescue many times.
