Joyce M. Kline, 88, of Liverpool, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Nottingham Village Nursing Center, Northumberland. She was born July 18, 1933, in Mt. Joy Township, Adams County, the daughter of the late Grover David and Pauline Marguerite (McKinney) Yingling. She married the love of her life, Palmer W. Kline, on November 26, 1954. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1990.
Joyce was a 1951 graduate of Gettysburg High School, a 1954 graduate of Harrisburg School of Nursing, and a 1976 Graduate of Bloomsburg University, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
Joyce had worked at the Selinsgrove Center as a staff and charge nurse, Snyder Convalescent Home as Director of Nurses, Visiting Nurses Association of Harrisburg, working in Perry County as a staff and charge nurse, the Juniata County school nurse, Nipple Convalescent Home in Liverpool, and a substitute teacher in Juniata County.
She was a member of the Turkey Valley United Methodist Church, Millerstown, having served on the finance committee. formerly a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Lay Leader, and lay member to annual conference; lay leadership committee: trustee, Sunday School Superintendent; outreach and floral person, former member of the Liverpool United Methodist Women, Harrisburg Alumni Association, Liverpool Fire Company and Ambulance League; PA Association of Retired State Employees; PA Association of School Retirees, Juniata County-PA Association of School Retirees, Perry County-PA Association of School Retirees, AARP (NRTA Division), served as an instructor of AARP's Safe Driving Course in Mifflin, Juniata and Perry Counties since June 1997, Juniata Co. Library Board Member, Mifflin-Juniata Concert Association Board Member, and has been serving as the Juniata County Legislative Chairperson since 2010 to the present.
Early in her retirement years, Joyce traveled the world. Exploring sites in England, France, Austria, Switzerland, Mexico, Russia, Hawaii, Africa, Italy, South America traveling down the Amazon River and fishing for Piranha and eating this delicacy.
Joyce is survived by her children Donald E. Kline and his wife Donna of Liverpool, Deborah K. Mitchell and her husband Jeffrey of Middleburg, and Douglas E. Kline and his wife Christine of Liverpool; six grandchildren Erin Goodman and her husband Geno, David Kline and his fiance Taylor Knisley, Jennifer Heilman and her husband Jeremy, Adam Mitchell, Stephanie Diem and her husband Benjamin, Nicholas Kline and wife Candice ; ten great-grandchildren; sister Doris Willow and her husband Newton (Tony) of York, PA.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by a brother David Grover Yingling.
A viewing will be held from on Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Turkey Valley United Methodist Church 13606 Route 235, Millerstown, PA 17062 from 10 AM until time of the funeral service at 11 AM with the Pastor Wyatt Taylor officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Dressler's Ridge United
Methodist Church Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Mills.
