Raymond R. Yoder

Raymond R. Yoder, 84, of Canal Street, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at his home.

Born Feb. 5, 1934, in Mattawana, he was a son of the late Harry R. and Carrie (French) Yoder. His wife, Sara A. (Glick) Yoder, whom he married Aug. 2, 1958, survives.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Rhoda E. Nolt and husband, Glenn, of McVeytown; a son, Arlan R. Yoder and wife, Debbie, of Imler; a daughter-in-law, Lois (Hengst) Yoder, of Imler; a sister, Corena Stauffer, of Conestoga; a brother, Daniel Yoder, of Lewistown; five grandchildren, Gwendolyn Nolt, Charity Nolt, Heidi Yoder, Jonathan Yoder, and Lane Yoder; and three great- grandchildren, Morgan, Emma and Owen.

He was preceded in death by: a son, Mark E. Yoder; and two siblings, Ambrose Yoder and Sophia Yoder.

He was employed as a machinist for Mack Truck in Hagerstown, Md. for 32 years.

Raymond was a member of the Strodes Mills Mennonite Church.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, genealogy and singing.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at the Pine Glen Alliance Church, 1058 State Route 103 North, Lewistown, with ministers Sheldon Yoder, Roy Groff and John Reeser officiating. Interment will be in Strodes Mills Mennonite Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.
