HUNTINGDON — Elizabeth Groff’s story does not have a happy beginning. She was born and raised in Eastern Ukraine, grew up in a broken family and ended up in an orphanage when she was only seven-years-old. She was devastated by the tragedies in her family and felt very alone. While Groff was in the orphanage, she received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. Churches can help foster and adoptive families

Children are a gift of God. It has always been this way and it always will be. God told Adam and Eve, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it” (Genesis 1:28).
