UMC to host Bible study
LEWISTOWN -- First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Worship Services at Trinity Lutheran Church
McALISTERVILLE -- Trinity Lutheran Church, 420 Main St. in McAlisterville. Worship every Sunday with Holy Communion at 9 a.m.
We are in the midst of the season of Lent. TLC will be giving their Lenten offerings to the East Juniata Tiger Treats Program. Currently TT is helping feed 83 children every weekend. That means nearly ¼ of the students at East Juniata are in need of food assistance right now. Please consider making a donation to this mission before the school year is over. Lenten donation envelopes can be found in members' mailboxes or donations can be made online via Tithely on TLC's website.
Sunday, March 19 is Sonbeam Sunday. Staff, children and their families are invited to worship as we give thanks and pray for the Sonbeam Early Learning Center. A potluck lunch will take place after the service.
Pastor Karen is offering First Communion Classes at the end of March-early April for children and their sponsors. Please sign up in the back of the sanctuary by tomorrow. First Communion will take place on Maundy Thursday, April 6 at 7 pm.
The Willing Workers have made thousands of chocolate eggs. Blue order forms are available in the back of the sanctuary. Orders are due Monday, March 20.
The Spring Highway Clean-Up and Free Community Breakfast will be Saturday, March 25. All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast from 8-11 a.m. The Clean-Up begins at 9 am. Please bring a monetary donation/canned food item for the Juniata County Food Pantry. Sign Up in the back of the sanctuary if you are participating in the clean-up. Lenten Worship Series presented by McAlisterville Ministerium
McALISTERVILLE -- The McAlisterville Ministerium invites you to the 2023 Lenten Worship Series "Jesus Offers You the Power of Prayer." This year ,in-person worship returns, but the service will also be streamed live on the McAlisterville Ministerium Facebook page. Mifflin-Juniata Citizens Concerned
for Human Life March for Life
LEWISTOWN -- The Mifflin-Juniata Citizens Concerned for Human Life will sponsor the annual Lewistown March for Life on Sunday, March 19, at 1 p.m., walking from Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 3rd and N. Dorcas Sts. to Bethel AME H.O.P.E. Center on N. Juniata St. A rally is scheduled from 1:20-2:30 p.m. Pastor Mike Bailey and other local clergy are invited to be present to offer prayer. Speakers will be Christopher Pushaw, Executive Director of the PA ProLife Federation, Bonnie Ritchey from Crossroads Pregnancy Services, and Senator Judy Ward, Pennsylvania's 30th Senatorial District. Families are encouraged to attend. Those unable to walk can meet the group at the H.O.P.E. Center. The M-J CCHL is a local affiliate of the PA ProLife Federation, Inc., dedicated to the protection of life from conception through natural death.

Free spaghetti dinner
MIFFLINTOWN -- Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 208 Lemon St. in Mifflintown, will serve a free spaghetti dinner to the community on Wednesday, March 22. Serving begins at 5 p.m. and continues until the food is gone. The menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, fresh bread, beverages and cookies. The purpose is to reach out to the community at a time when so many are struggling to make ends meet. All are welcome to enjoy a delicious free meal and fellowship with friends.

Bunkertown Men's Chorus plans
to begin 90th season of singing
McALISTERVILLE -- The Bunkertown Men's Chorus plans to begin its 90th season of singing this month (March). The group was founded in 1934 by a small group of Christian men from Eastern Juniata and Western Snyder Counties, originally providing music on WKOK in Sunbury.
If your church or organization is interested in hosting the chorus, or you are a Christian man who would enjoy signing with the group, more information can be found online at menschorus.org, or you can contact the Good News Church office at (717) 463-4030.
A cappella Hymn Sing at Ellen Chapel
LEWISTOWN -- Ellen Chapel Church, Ferguson Valley Road, will hold a special community Maundy Thursday service of a cappella hymn singing on April 6 from 7- 8 p.m. All are welcome.
Ham and dandelion supper in Troxelville
TROXELVILLE -- Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church will host a ham and dandelion supper on Saturday, April 15 beginning at 4 p.m at the Troxelville Community Hall in Troxelville. Menu includes fried ham, dandelion greens, oven-browned potatoes, corn, homemade bread and applesauce. Hot lettuce will also be available. Cost is $13 for adults (includes beverage and dessert – all you can eat). $6 for children six to 12. Free for children five and under. Take-outs will be available. Handicap accessible.
