UMC to host Bible study
LEWISTOWN -- First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Sunday, Feb. 26 is the first Sunday of Lent. During this season, we commemorate the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert while being tempted by Satan. Lent prepares us for Holy Week, Jesus’ death on the cross and his rising to new life on Easter morning. It is also Church Council Appreciation and Installation day.
TLC and Lost Creek Presbyterian Church exceeded the 2nd Annual Toilet Paper Bowl of Caring collection goal by 53,912 sheets. In total we collected 413,912 sheets, roughly 2,760 rolls, for the JCFP. The Willing Workers have started making chocolate eggs. Blue order forms are available in the back of the sanctuary. Orders are due March 20.

Movie/Meal Night at First Baptist Church in Mifflintown
MIFFLINTOWN -- First Baptist Church – Family Ministry Center, Route 35 – one mile North of Mifflintown, will host a free family movie/meal nite Sunday, March 5 at 5 p.m. The meal begins at 5 p.m. and includes sloppy joes, mac and cheese, stewed tomatoes, dessert and a beverage. Free lunch for seniors at Lost Creek Presbyterian Church
McALISTERVILLE -- Lost Creek Presbyterian Church is hosting a free lunch for senior citizens on Monday, March 13, at noon. Church members will be serving shepherd's pie. After the meal, Jack (Pennsylvania Jack) Graham, storyteller extraordinaire, will share stories from Pennsylvania's past.
