UMC to host Bible study
LEWISTOWN -- First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Divorce care and divorce care for kids (DC4K) kicks-off
BELLEVILLE -- Divorce Care for adults and DC4K (Divorce Care for Kids) is currently running at New Life Church, 101 N. Beech Street, Burnham, PA and at Locust Grove Church at 3358 W. Main Street, Bellevile, PA.
The Divorce Care program runs in conjunction with Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K). In Burnham, parents attending Divorce Care at New Life Church are invited to enroll their children in Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K) there while families attending the Belleville group will enroll their children at Locust Grove. Registration can be done in advance by calling the phone numbers below. DC4K is a student support group for children ages five - 12 whose families are experiencing separation/divorce.
At DC4K, kids are engaged in crafts, games, activities, DVD dramas, and music. The program is scheduled to run through Dec. 12, 2022, and will feature small groups. DC (Divorce Care) for adults is a divorce support group that meets weekly for 13 weeks to help adults recover from the pain of separation and divorce. Participants experience a warm, caring environment led by people who care and want to help attendees find healing and wholeness in the midst of their circumstances. One DC participant reported: "My life was pretty much in shambles when I began DivorceCare.

Outdoor concert at Beavertown United Methodist Church

McIntosh will speak at
Pasquerilla Spiritual Life Center
STATE COLLEGE -- Professor Andy McIntosh, a Professor Emeritus in Thermodynamics from Leeds University in England, will be the guest speaker at a one day conference on Oct. 4 in State College. At noon he will speak on the subject, "Has Science Killed God?" at the memorial Lounge in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Life Center on the Penn State Campus. Free pizza will be offered at this luncheon event. At 7 p.m. Dr. McIntosh will speak on the subject, "The Wonder of the Human Voice" at the State College Assembly of God at 2201 University Dr. in State College. The public is invited to attend the presentations sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Creation Fellowship. The fellowship presents speakers who are credentialed scientists who believe in the Genesis account of Creation. Admission is free. Rev. Glen Bayly guest speaker at First Baptist Church
MIFFLINTOWN -- Rev. Glen Bayly will be the featured speaker at First Baptist Church in Mifflintown on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Rev. Bayly is ordained with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. He served as the Sr. Pastor in VA, VT, and PA for 38 years. Since retirement from full-time pastoral ministry, he has served in a number of capacities and is host of the nationwide syndicated radio program, 'The Lions' Den University Report' (thelionsdenuniversityreport.org). Hearbeat Community Services, Inc. annual fall banquet
