Healing is theme of campmeeting
MIFFLINTOWN — Evening messages centered around the topic of healing will be provided by various local pastors, cottage holders and friends of Island Grove during the 126th annual Island Grove campmeeting, which began Friday.
Sunday, a hymn sing will be held during the worship service with local favorite, The Bunkertown Men’s Chorus.
Local and visiting musicians such as The Dan Smith Family, The Norman Sisters, John Swartz, Mary Thompson, and The Naka Sisters will share their talents during the nightly services.
Bible study, teen time and children’s services are offered at 10 a.m. on the grounds Monday through Friday. There are also special events throughout the week.
UMC to host Bible study
LEWISTOWN — First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Brothers in Grace to perform
EAST SALEM — Brothers in Grace Gospel Quartet, of Hershey, will present a program of their unique southern Gospel style music at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at Delaware Mennonite Church, Route 333, East Salem. A free will offering will be lifted.
