Homecoming celebration
in Beavertown
BEAVERTOWN -- St. Paul's Reformed Church of Beavertown is hosting a Homecoming Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 27. Bring your lawn chairs and join in the fun and festivities. Beginning at noon the church will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and a side to hungry visitors. At 1 p.m. the kids' activities get underway. The Beavertown Museum will open for tours and the church will be open for visitors to peruse the church memorabilia and photos from over the years. At 2 p.m.the Paxton Boys, a father and sons group from Beavertown, will provide musical entertainment. At 3 p.m. the closing program will be held, followed by refreshments.
Drive-thru spaghetti dinner
A drive-thru Spaghetti Dinner hosted by Helping Hands, Helping Others, Inc. is scheduled for Aug. 27 from 4 p.m.-? at Beaver Lutheran Church, located along US 522 between Beavertown and Beaver Springs. Proceeds to benefit HHHO.
HHHO distributes food items free of charge to over 100 families on a monthly basis through provisions received from Blessings of Hope. While the food items are free, a requirement of $500 monthly is needed for its transportation from Lancaster.
UMC to host Bible study
LEWISTOWN -- First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

BEAVERTOWN -- An outdoor concert by Mercy Run, a country style gospel music band, will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at the pavilion of Beavertown United Methodist Church, 128 North Orange St., Beavertown. Refreshments to follow the concert. The public is asked to please bring lawn chairs.
Outdoor Gospel music concert
MIIDDLEBURG -- Mercy Run and the Seger Family will perform at an outdoor Gospel music concert Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022 at St. Paul's (Erdley's) Lutheran Church, 2337 Erdley Church Road, Middleburg (Smalsh Barrick Road and Erdley Church Road). The concert will be held outside, rain or shine, in the picnic grove. Mercy Run performs at 2 p.m. The Seger Family performs at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Divorce care and divorce care for kids (DC4K) kicks-off
BELLEVILLE -- Divorce Care for adults and DC4K (Divorce Care for Kids) kicks off Sept. 12, 2022, at New Life Church, 101 N. Beech Street, Burnham, PA and at Locust Grove Church at 3358 W. Main Street, Bellevile, PA.
The Divorce Care program runs in conjunction with Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K). In Burnham, parents attending Divorce Care at New Life Church are invited to enroll their children in Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K) there while families attending the Belleville group will enroll their children at Locust Grove. Registration can be done in advance by calling the phone numbers below. DC4K is a student support group for children ages five - 12 whose families are experiencing separation/divorce.
At DC4K, kids are engaged in crafts, games, activities, DVD dramas, and music. The program is scheduled to run through Dec. 12, 2022, and will feature small groups. DC (Divorce Care) for adults is a divorce support group that meets weekly for 13 weeks to help adults recover from the pain of separation and divorce. Participants experience a warm, caring environment led by people who care and want to help attendees find healing and wholeness in the midst of their circumstances. One DC participant reported: "My life was pretty much in shambles when I began DivorceCare.

Community Concert
BELLEVILLE -- There will be a community concert at Watts Memorial United Methodist Church, 38 Walnut Street, Belleville. The brother/sister duo known as Buffalo Valley Bluegrass will present a concert of bluegrass and gospel music Sunday, Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome. Bring a lawn chair. Light refreshments will be served.
Wriglesworth to speak
in Mifflintown
MIFFLINTOWN -- Former pastor David Wriglesworth will speak during services at First Baptist Church of Juniata County on Sept. 18. Wriglesworth will speak for the church's 60th anniversary. Wriglesworth now resides in South Dakota and was pastor at First Baptist in the 80s.
