UMC to host Bible study

LEWISTOWN — First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at

7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Schrader to host special speakers

MILROY — Schrader United Methodist Church will host the following speakers during its 8:30 a.m. services:

• July 24 — Clair Diven

• July 31 — Molly Phillips

Summer camps return to East Kish

REEDSVILLE — Summer day camps at East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 100 Walnut St., Reedsville, will be held at no cost to campers. To register a child, or for more information, call Gail Wagner at (717) 667-6526. Grades refer to the grade the child has completed. Camps will be offered as follows:

• Sewing Camp — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 25-29, grade 4 and up, lunch provided.

First Baptist to host Mercy run

MIFFLINTOWN — First Baptist Church of Juniata County will host Mercy Run in concert at 6 p.m. July 24.

Mercy Run is a traditional country-style Gospel music group that proclaims the good news of the Gospel through word and song. Mercy Run strives to encourage the Christian believer and tell the lost that there is a better way through life. Bring lawn chairs.

Lancaster-based performers set stage

MIFFLINTOWN — Piercing Word, a group of dedicated Christians from Lancaster, will present the musical sermon on the mount at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at Lost Creek Mennonite Church, 2682 Long Road, Mifflintown. Performance uses only the memorized words of scripture for the script. The goal is to bring God’s word center stage and create opportunities for people to engage with God through his word in fresh and creative ways. There will be no charge. A free will offering will be lifted to help cover expenses.

Lauvers to host hymn sing

EVENDALE — Lauver’s Mennonite Church, state Route 35, Evendale, will host a hymn sing at 7 p.m.

July 31.

Church to host hymn sing

LEWISTOWN — A hymn sing will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Lewistown Assembly of God. The church has also resumed its Sunday night service at

6:30 p.m.

Ministerium offers special worship service

MCALISTERVILLE — The McAlisterville Ministerium will hold a worship service at 6 p.m. Sunday,

July 31, to ask God to bless the carnival. The service will be held in the McAlisterville park at the new stage. Attendees are asked to bring a chair. The service will be led by local pastors, with Bunkertown Brethren leading the singing and Pastor Karen Ward of Trinity Lutheran delivering the message. The service will be followed by an ice cream social.

Pastors invited to submit messages

LEWISTOWN — The Sentinel invites area religious leaders to submit columns for “Professions of Faith” in the Sentinel’s weekly religion section. Interested individuals may contact Erin Thompson at ethompson@lewistownsentinel.com or (717) 248-6741, ext. 117. Sermons should be limited to 1,000 words; exceptions may be made at the editor’s discretion.
